Posted by Hello Finally, after almost a week of discussing ratings and letters to Bob Feder's column in the Sun-Times, it would appear that the smoke has begun to clear in the saga of listener feedback to the shows listed above. As mentioned last week, a story appeared in Mr. Feders Radio and TV column concerning the exit of Kevin Matthews from WCKG. Myself and a few other readers shared our thoughts on the subject. There was never any mention to me that my letter would get printed however, it did. Not only that, but the few of us who wrote in, also got a lambasting on all three of these guys' websites from loyal listeners. They were all playing the blame ame with each other over Kevin's departure. He was blaming Dahl, Dahl was blaming Mancow, Mancow now decided he wants to be Kevin's friend because he's always been a "closet fan." That only goes to show that when Mancow was supposed to be putting effort into his own show, instead, he was listening to WCKG. This all came down to money and the fact that Howard Stern is going to Sirrius satellite radio in January. There's a spot to fill at 'CKG for mornings and the bosses there didn't want to pay Kevin the money. He thinks that Dahl railroaded him because he wants the spot himself. All three of these guys have one thing in common: No talent. There was a point in my life where I listened to all three, now I'd rather listen to news or music instead. Take Dahl for example...it's the same old schtick for the last twentysomething years. All he talks about is his wife and kids and different "projects" he's working on. Things weren't much different when Garry Meier was by his side. Who wants to hear that crapola everyday? Kevin Matthews was OK when he pulled into town, but now, he too has fallen into the Steever trap. Always talking about fishing and hunting and Ted Nugent, and pooping in the woods without any toilet paper. Not to mention all the voices in his head! Finally, Mancow. No matter what anyone says, he's doing what Howard Stern did ten years ago...pushing the envelope and seeing what he can get away with before the FCC fines him. Talking to strippers about sex is nothing new and puts me to sleep. I knew all the bickering wouldn't last. That's the way the game is played in Radio. Personally, I think the three amigos should go to satellite too. I've got my FCC license ready to be renewed...I'll gladly take over one of their lame shows, and THAT'S the way I see it! -------- Squealing Pig WORLDWIDE!: If they can't take the heat...!!!
