The start of the NCAA Tournament means a time to start worrying!
You know, lately there's been all kinds of that so-called, "chatter" suggesting another terrorist attack in the U.S. The other day, some tourists were detained after snapping photos of the Sears Tower. Pictures of 747's were also on the roll of film. They realized that there really wasn't a good reason other than suspicion to hold them captive, so they let them go. What really irks me now is some website that warns College Basketball fans to stay away from the NCAA Tournament which starts today. According to the idiots website which the news media picked up off the AP wires, casually dressed children and women will enter some of these arenas strapped with explosives. The radical Muslim movement is hoping to use both black and white converts to get rid of any suspicion as they pass through the door. When the first bomb detonates and people run for the doors, other people will be ready to throw grenades into what's left of the crowd. This is sick, sick, sick to say the least! If I had tickets to one of the games, I wouldn't be putting them on eBay now because I'm afraid...Yet, I'm sure there are plenty of people who are doing just that! The folks in the crowd shouldn't be worrying about life threatening injuries and getting hurt...The players and cheerleaders should! That's right. As an Alumnus of the class of 1991 at SIU, I'm glad that after all these years, the title of "Party School" has left Carbondale and headed North to Wisconsin. The video of the cheerleader who fell from atop a pyramid and ended up with a broken neck and concussion was a classic! Not the falling from the top part, but the fact that this little Japanese girl displayed such good team spirit, that broken neck and all, continued to cheer for our beloved Salukis even from the stretcher as they wheeled her to the ambulance. Now, I'm sure that everyone has seen the video. Just to show that there's a silver lining in every cloud and from lemons comes lemonade, this unfortunate incident has put her right up there with Richard Hatch from Survivor and Kelly Clarkson from American Idol. She's hitting all the morning and evening talk shows to chat about her story, and there's a good chance there will be litigation with a large sum of money at stake. Afterall, the SIU Athletic Dept. wanted her standing on the shoulders of the other young ladies to push the show over the top...which goes to show you that sometimes your best friends are your worst enemy, without any such thing as terrorism. THAT'S the way I see things today!
