"But they play real parents on TV!" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday"
I've been annoyed lately at the new Public Service Announcements running in the evenings for a new non-profit organization. They feature "Kevin and Lucy Kinkirk", characters that "portray" new parents on 7th Heaven ...the show that's arriving in heaven in a few weeks. So , when I see these two talking about how important following the rules of being new parents are, you would think that firstcandle.org would have realized that not only are these two NOT married to each other or anyone else in real life, most importantly they don't have any kids in real life either. So, am I supposed to give this firstcandle group any credibility at all? Any kindergartener knows through common sense that you don't lay a baby face down in a crib, shake it to stop crying, or give it your plastic bag from walmart to play with! Also, who would have thought that putting a crib under a window with blinds and a real long cord is a bad thing? How about that warming the bottle until it's bubbling isn't a good idea either? If you don't know any of these things baby or not, you probably need a half hour in the morning to figure out what shoe goes on what foot! I thought about sending along an e-mail to the people in charge and ask them if America is really THAT stupid, but if I get an answer back at all, I'm sure they will tell me that deaths occur all the time due to these issues and they're serious business! Fine, but why not have a real couple that lost a child do the ads? Makes me wonder if after 7th Heaven had it's big wrap-up party after filming the last episode if those two got a DUI or something, and were forced to do the PSA's as part of their probationary terms like most actors do after getting arrested for something! Church on Sunday morning, murder on Sunday nights! Thank goodness for old HBO pulling through with a new season of The Sopranos at a critical point where if you're a guy like me, you've had to suffer through an evening filled with news programs and old reruns that you can turn the sound off and be able to recite the script verbatum. Oh yeah, there's the women of "Mysteria Lane" or whatever the street is on Housewives . It's going to be good to have Tony back for another several episodes that nobody has actually confirmed to be the final season yet. I personally am a bit peeved that they dragged their feet with getting the ball rolling. Now, I have no memory of how things ended two years ago, but I do know it included Christopher's girlfriend getting shot in the woods. Since then, she's moved onto bigger and better things by joining the cast of Joey. Since that show has been in a coma and has taken a turn for the worst...it could go any day now, and they never really confirmed she actually got bumped off in The Sopranos, I predict that we will see her character walk out of the woods bloody, but alive! Badabing!
