Bill "I think I'm still President" Clinton in the news...
When I woke up the other day I had to check the newspaper to see what year it was and who is President in 2005. Will someone please tell Bill Clinton that his days in the Oval Office are long gone? I believe Mr. Clinton thinks he's still President! Maybe this time Bill DID inhale because during the past week he's gotten more coverage than the real President and all of it has gotten two thumbs up by the media. On the other hand, George W. has been getting a bad rap because of some crazy lady camping out on his front lawn in Crawford, TX. who's angry her son got killed in Iraq. Does Willie have an agenda? You betcha. It's two fold: hoodwink the public into thinking he actually gives a crap about certain things AND pave the way for Hillary should she decide to run for President. He's a businessman now and is always scheming to make money but will gladly waive his $100,000 fee to speak at an engagement in return for some good P.R. All of a sudden, Bill has a lot to say and for some odd reason, people are buying into it. This all started with the death of newsman Peter Jennings. Jennings served him up some tough questions during his impeachment and made Bill angry. Now that he's gone, Bill found it necessary to "clear the air" and say that Jennings was a great man and will be missed. Then he wiped the tears from his eyes. Yesterday, Bill was in Chicago for the funeral of Ebony/Jet founder John Johnson. He was the only white man in the house as he walked into the church with Rev. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson at his sides. He got up and spoke to the congregation and called John Johnson a great man who will be missed. Then he wiped the tears from his eyes. He's also been doing humanitarian work with Bush #1 visiting places that aren't that nice. When he speaks of the less fortunate, he always makes sure to mention that they are good people, then he wipes the tears from his eyes. Following in the footsteps of Jimmy Carter, Clinton is working around the clock to change his image and look like the good guy, long after his eight years in The White House have ended. In recent years he's said, "I'm sorry" too many times to mention and is always seen with tears in his eyes. Sorry Mr. President, your time is up. Like it or not, we have George W. to kick around now so buy a few boxes of kleenex and wipe your tears and get out of the spotlight! Here's the kicker: Bill Clinton is stealing an idea from The Flaming Lips by making a CD featuring some of the tunes he's got loaded in his I-Pod. I think it comes out next week. Always the businessman and always the "Ex" President and now DJ, William Jefferson Clinton. Oh, give me a break!
