...The trouble with Phil
"The Zen Master" can't decide to poop, or get off the pot! For most people, writing a book that bashes Shaq and Kobe would be career suicide if you're a coach in the NBA. Not so with Phil Jackson who just signed again after a year off. Phil was wooed back to The Lakers to pull them out of the slump they're in. God forbid The Lakers have a bad year! Time to bring in the big guns! Now I haven't read Phil's book, but at least he doesn't have to worry about Shaq anymore unless they play Miami. Jackson is in for one tough ride when he comes back. When the dust settles and the smoke clears, he's still got a lot of explaining to do to a lot of people. The Coach is wishy washy. Just like #23, he can't decide if he wants to be on the court, or at home with his wife doing the TV Guide crossword puzzle. He got a four year multi-million dollar deal...he really needs the money for more Armani suits. Michael Jordan finally got rid of the "itch" to come out of retirement yet again. His stint on The Wizards closed the book. So, why can't Phil let it go? At his press conference he said he apologized to everyone he slammed in his book, and "all is forgiven." Now this I gotta see. Sure, he might get paid for four years, but he's on shaky ground. Coach Phil can't wave a magic wand and turn the team around that quick. I give him one season before he retires again...maybe then he'll fade into the Montana sunset where he has his big home. THAT'S the way I see it !
