AUTHOR: Dave Sypniewski DATE: Thursday, May 12, 2005 ----- BODY: HEY BEEEYYITCH! Posted by Hello I just got word today that Comedy Central's Dave Chapelle from the show which bears his name, just walked away from his very lucrative deal with the cable channel and HBO who co-produces the show because he was feeling a little nutty. Since this morning, I've heard a lot of different opinions as to what's wrong with the old boy. I do know the black comedian is in South Africa where he checked himself into some kind of rehab place. I ask though, Dave..."why?" You live in L.A. where rehab clinics are every half a block like McDonald's or Walgreen's. You need to go to South Africa? I thought they didn't like blacks down there either??!! You might think you're going for help and someone might put a pillow over your face while you sleep. I've heard that Chapelle was doing crack, doing coke, drinking, pills, and lastly, as of late, it's being reported that he's got mental issues. Maybe he can hook up with that white woman from Georgia who went nuts before her wedding and had the whole United States of America looking for her. She's in a rehab clinic now for mental illness. This sounds like some kind of skit on his show with that guy he plays that's on crack and is always scratching himself and licking his lips...but I guess it's not. They said that he's a perfectionist and liked to rile everyone up on his crew. Everyone was telling him to take it easy, slow down...instead, he'd party hard later after the show. Now his show is belly-up. He's not returning to entertaining right now, although comedian Richard Lewis makes 'em laugh always talking about therapy and prozac, so why not Dave? I don't know if it's the pressure, the money, or the fame, but he's right behind Pat O'Brien and Craig Kilbourn. Remember him? He walked off the set of his show right in the middle one night and said he quits. (Now Craig Ferguson a.k.a. Mr. Wick from Drew Carey has that horrible show) I hope Dave gets the help he needs, and he probably doesn't need to work again. Unless of course, he smoked all his money up. It was a funny show whenever I remembered to watch it. I guess I'll just have to settle for another 1/2 hour of Jimmy Kimmel's "Crank Yankers"! ...and THAT'S the way I see it! -------- Squealing Pig WORLDWIDE!: Life imitates art...
