A swing and a Miss and other gems!
Call it a miracle, or call it a waste of time. Miss America 2006 which had been on life support for the last six months was able to dodge the bullet that nearly killed the decades old show. All the major networks took a rain check this year and passed up the offer to air the show. In a real head scratcher, the show got picked up by CMT of all places! What does this have to do with country music? Nothing. It makes about as much sense as putting The Super Bowl on C-SPAN! ..."Hi. Remember me? I'm former 1970's teen idol Leif Garrett. Guess what? I got arrested AGAIN, and I'm going into rehab AGAIN!" ...You know what I'm really sick and tired of? The Comcast commercial with the elderly couple dancing. I'm just as sick over the one with the woman telling the blind date that she has Comcast but has it for the movies and not the sports as he speeds off in his Corvette. ...It's official: "The West Wing" has been canceled after 7 years. It looks like President Bartlett gets impeached before finishing off his 2nd term. And that other show with Geena Davis is so much better??!! ...What's up with that weight loss show on VH1? Who books these people and why bother? Bruce Valanche and Chastity Bono have a Chinaman's chance! The odds are a whole lot better that one of those two will go straight a lot sooner than lose the weight! ...Speaking of losing the weight, that crazy Pat O'Brien and "The Insider" are still doing stories on those anorexic twins from Austrailia. Surfing through the channels earlier, O'Brien opened up their little refrigerator to reveal nothing inside but a slice of watermelon as the two sisters kept telling the other one, "I'm not going to eat it. You eat it!" In the same show, they also featured a big fella who weighed over 1000 lbs, lost a lot of weight, and now has the skin from his belly hanging down to his ankles. Kudos to Channel 26 for putting the show on during dinner time! On that note, enjoy the rest of your Sunday. THAT'S the way I see things today!
