It's from Halloween, but is priceless _______________________________________________ Please settle an argument regarding the Chicago commercials which feature Patricia Heaton. My wife thinks that they were actually done in Chicago. I say, no. I think they were done at an Albertson's store in California and Jewel was digitally inserted. I argue that the stores are too nice and clean to be in Chicago. Who's right? Also, why is the dialogue in the 'coctail party' spot being 'tweaked?' Sorry, but I notice these things. Thanks ________________________________________________ Dear Mr. Sypniewksi: Thanks for taking the time to write to us -- it's nice to know you're really paying attention to these spots. To answer your first question, the exterior store shot was actually an Acme store in Philadelphia. It's identical to a number of Chicago area stores, and yes, we inserted the store name digitally. The interior was shot in a store in Los Angeles that we use for most of our TV spots. I'm sorry to hear your local stores aren't as clean as this one -- they should be. As for the dialogue, we do a lot of post-production tweaking of dialogue where we tape lines after the actual shoot and "loop" them in. This particular scene was honestly not up to our normal standards though, and is noticeable if one is really listening. I hope this settles things for you. Please feel free to contact me directly if I can answer any additional questions (or settle any bets). And thanks again for contacting us!
