AUTHOR: Dave Sypniewski DATE: Friday, September 02, 2005 ----- BODY: Already there's a list a few miles long. I'm not talking about the homeless, the dead, or those still stuck without food, water, and medical aid. This is about the African American politicians who are using a catastrophe like the one going on now to make themselves the "Heroes." I wasn't going to say anything about the tragedy in New Orleans just yet however, this really got my goat today when I saw politicians such as the Gov. of Louisiana and Jesse Jackson Jr. on the news and saying that this hurricane rescue effort is a sham. They are claiming that the blacks of that City are being left behind to drown, starve, and die while the wealthy white folks are getting special treatment as well as being given top priority for help in leaving town. All I've heard today is that the blacks need help and the blacks are hungry and thirsty. These politicians ought to be ashamed of themselves for saying that! First of all, New Orleans is 2/3 black. Secondly, I highly doubt that during the emergency session in congress the other day that everyone decided this would be a good way to "kill off" a small chunk of the black population. This isn't a genocide. George Bush isn't a reincarnation of Adolph Hitler. The truth of the matter is that blacks and whites and whoever else are all in the same pickle. I don't know what Jesse Jr. has seen in person, but on television, I've seen people helping people. This is a search and rescue effort with no time to spare, and that means of course, the people that need help the most will get it first. Leave it to the Jackson family to once again use a disaster as a podium for political rhetoric. While blacks are helping whites, whites are helping blacks, blacks are helping hispanics and working together, this father and son team from Chicago aren't visiting to help out, they're there to stir the pot and create more chaos. As soon as those guys arrived in town, that's when all the trouble started...people looting, robbing, barricading themselves in grocery stores stocked with food, setting fires, and shooting at Apache helicopters. As I said before, those two ding-a-lings would really be well liked, if only they spent their energy doing something useful like lending a hand down there instead of popping up on TV. How about using that private jet of theirs to carry some of the people out? Now THAT'S doing something...and that's the way I see it! www.redcross.org -------- Squealing Pig WORLDWIDE!: Already there's a conspiracy theory!
