Holiday time is a good time for pranks...
You know, even way before this blog came to be, I always had quite a bit of fun screwing around with various companies, businesses and everyday people. One thing that has become an annual tradition is my e-mail to Butterball Turkey. Sure, they have the "Holiday Helpline" that allows stupid folks to telephone and ask stupid questions, but in 2005...it's a lot harder to "hang up" on an e-mail than a telephone call. I immedietly went to work earlier and have prepared this year's question. Feel free to use it yourself OR, you may wait for the day or two it will take for them to respond...oh, they WILL write back! Here it is and look for the answer soon!

I have a question concerning our holiday turkey. We have a 13 lb bird and I'm really concerned about getting the bird flu. I suggested to my Wife that perhaps we invest in a bottle of Ny-Quil ahead of time and inject the bird in assorted areas to make sure that if it's sick now, by the Thanksgiving it will hopefully be cured. I'd suggest taking it to the Doctor for a flu shot however, that may be silly. Just to make sure and be on the safe side, I think microwaving the bird is the best way to go since the turkey cooks from the inside out that way and would kill any virus. I figure if we start out with a 13 lb turkey and cook it at 100% power for a minute per pound, in 13 minutes the whole thing should be table ready. Is this the better idea or should I make a Doctor's appointment and take the thawed Butterball turkey for a shot? Thanks.
