AUTHOR: Dave Sypniewski DATE: Tuesday, April 05, 2005 ----- BODY: Peace and quiet? You won't find it here! Posted by Hello BONUS** We've only experienced a few warm days, and already I realize that having the windows open is virtually impossible. The noise is already unbearable. We're not exactly a stones throw away from the Borman Expressway however, with the wind blowing on a day like todaay, you can hear EVERYTHING! So this is supposed to be a joint roadwork project between Indiana and Illinois? You would think that having two neighbors working together, they could knock this project out lickety split. That expressway project is only the tip of the iceberg. I can't really complain about that too much because the work will continue they say, until 2008. I say screw it! Take out all the concrete and just leave dirt on I-80/94 Before Eisenhower created the highway system there was nothing but dirt roads and people got along fine. There wouldn't be any speeding, and when the weather is lousy you'll really have to slow down. The Tollway Authority could sell all their snow plows. Ice won't form on dirt. Plus, they can get rid of the tolls instead of rasing them up to ten bucks a piece or whatever they are now. All in all, it would be a lot safer. I wouldn't have to hear Channel 9's helicopter hovering over the same spot everyday for 20 minutes covering an accident. The peace and quiet is gone. I'm amazed that the birds didn't give up yet and go back to Florida. There's pounding, hammering, clanking, and hitting. I'm surprised that my nerves aren't doing more jittering. There's motorcycles galore, and sirens a plenty, I can't wait for the winter to have my serenity. I'm eating lithium and zoloft like they were Pez today. -------- Squealing Pig WORLDWIDE!: Bring the noize!
